The Lugana region of the southern shore of the amazingly beautiful Lake Garda is a high-quality white wine which is considered one of the best white wines in Italy. Well-known in Italy and appreciated throughout Europe. Lugana wines, one of the oldest known wines in Italy (records show it was made by the Romans) stand out for their uniqueness and quality. A gem of a location, divided between the provinces of Veneto and Lombardy. Lugana is a name to know as the wines are ripe and ready to be discovered in the U.S.
The wine-producing tradition is deeply rooted in the history, culture and the landscape of this area and vineyards extend from the lake to the surrounding gentle hills. These amazing white wines are made with the Turbiana grape. Lugana is a wine that can be drunk both young, with a fresh style as well as with some age on it. They are aromatic white wines that are supple and rounded, with crisp notes of white fruits.
Join us on Sunday November 11th, 2018, as we take a journey through the Lugana region sampling an array of incredible undiscovered high-quality wines.
The tasting will be led by Susannah Gold, Italian Wine Expert, Wine Writer and Educator. Susannah is Lugana’s representative in the U.S. She will be supported by Robin Kelley O'Connor, Wine Lovers of NYC and Pierre Loti Chelsea’s resident wine expert.
Among the 10 wines to be tasted include:
