September 2018: Garnacha / Grenache Month

When:  September 2-29
Where: Pierre Loti Chelsea
258 West 15 St at 8th Ave.

What is Garnacha/Grenache? Garnacha/Grenache is one of the world’s oldest and most widely planted wine grapes. The grapes (purple-skinned Grenache Noir, pale crimson-skinned Grenache Gris and green-skinned Grenache Blanc) are used to make some of the best red, rosé and white wines in the world.

Wines made from Garnacha (Spanish) /Grenache (French)  were first produced in Aragon in northern Spain in the 12th century.  For the whole month of September Pierre Loti Chelsea will be offering Garnacha /Grenache wines from this region (now northeastern Spain and Roussillon in southeastern France).  Just one sip of these wines is enough to make you savor Garnacha/Grenache’s complex, structured and well-balanced wines. The wines are luscious! They are fruity and very diverse, structured and well-balanced.

Stop by any time in September and, better yet, come to one of the many special events we will be holding during the month as we celebrate these wonderful wines.

Below is a calendar of events for the month. Special events include:
  • Weekly happy hours featuring Garnacha/Grenache wines and a guest flamenco guitarist
  • A guided tasting of 8+ of the top wines from the region
  • A special night celebrating International Grenache Day
